Kent and Mary Cyr’s four-year-old son, Henry, has a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). He is due to have his first of 2 to 3 open heart surgeries soon. Even with insurance, the Cyr family will be financially pressured to cover the exceedingly high costs for treatment and the loss of income during Henry’s surgery and recovery.
As you know, for the last five years our area Dart Leagues have held benefit dart tournaments for some worthy causes, raising over $20,000.00. This year one of our own families is in need of our help. Kent Cyr is a longtime member of the Maine Dart Association and the Saco River League, and an all-around great guy.
Whether you play darts or not, you can still help. Over the next few weeks, MDA Tournament Director Don Bombaro will be collecting items to be raffled off and given away as door prizes at the tournament. You can contact him at 207-590-9566 for more information. You can also participate as a fundraiser, gathering individual donations from your friends, co-workers, and even teammates who are unable to attend. Download fundraising flyer: Page 1 Page 2
The tournament will be held at The Station, at Union Station Plaza in Portland, on Saturday, May 1st at 2pm. Signups are from 1-2, and first place is a guaranteed $350. The entry fee is $15, or you can raise $25 or more and get in free. You can download the tournament flyer here in pdf format. Please pass a link to this page along to everyone you know!!! http://www.dartsinmaine.com/benefit_tournament.htm
New info 4/10: Bickford Oil of Saco has donated 2 certificates for 150 gallons of #2 Fuel Oil for a raffle prize. You can purchase tickets prior to the tournament, and do not have to be present to win. For more info, download the raffle flyer.
