To go over the playoff format once more, 4th plays at 1st*, and 3rd plays at 2nd, on your regular match night, regular time. First team to reach 6 points is the winner. You do not have to do the stats at the bottom of the match report sheet, as no tons, specialties, etc. are recorded after the end of the regular season. However, we do ask that you call in your match results, and mail your match report sheet for our records. If you call in, we can post the results on the website, and that also helps your Board prepare for the Finals. Call any Board member if you need a match report for the playoffs. We will provide them for the Finals.

The Finals will be held Saturday December 16th, 7:30pm, at The Brunswick in OOB, with an awards ceremony to follow.  Come support your friends and fellow shooters!

* In the A and D division, due to only having 4 teams, the 1st place teams will have a bye on match night and meet the winner of 3rd/2nd at the Finals.

12/8/2006 - Look for the stats to be posted late day tomorrow. We are waiting on one last match report sheet, to finish up those all-important end of the season stats.
12/2/2006 - FINAL REMINDER! MANDATORY CAPTAINS' MEETING
Sunday December 3rd, 1pm at The Brunswick in OOB. Be sure not to park in the reserved condo spaces.

If you want a hand in running YOUR dart league, we have two vacancies on the Board. Treasurer is open immediately due to Vickey Brown's resignation. One
Area Director position will be vacant after the Finals due to Mike Petersen taking on the Tournament Director position. If you are interested in either position, please come to Sunday's meeting.

11/18/2006 - The SRDL has an opening for a Treasurer. If you are interested, please come to the monthly board meeting on Monday the 20th, 7pm at The Brunswick.

Also, our web hosting company has scheduled some maintenance/upgrades for 1-8am EST tomorrow (Sunday). If you happen to check the site during that time, it may not be available, and e-mail will be delayed for a few hours.

In an unrelated note, stats are now posted (11am Sat). Internet service has been sketchy here since yesterday, or they would have been there sooner...

11/11/2006 - The election has been cancelled due to the number of nominations matching the number of open positions. The MANDATORY Captains' Meeting however, will go on as scheduled. Here is your list of nominees/position winners:

President - Linda Lorenzen
Tournament Director - Mike Petersen
Area Directors - Pappy Andrews & Kelly Petit

Mandatory Captains' Meeting on Sunday, December 3rd, 1pm at The Brunswick in OOB. At least one member of each team must be present or you will lose points. All league members are welcome to attend.

10/20/2006 - The list of paid players has been updated to include a couple of players who were accidentally left off the original list.
10/7/2006 - Just a quick note to let you all know that stats are now posted. If you open one of the files and do not see the Week 6 data, try the refresh/reload button in your browser. You might also want to check your internet settings as to how often your browser checks for new versions of pages.  Some people have reported not seeing the new stats until Sunday or Monday, and after the first week, they have been posted Saturday morning at the very latest, usually Friday night. If you continue to experience problems, or need help resolving this issue, please contact your website administrator directly while you're sitting at your computer (831-7119 or outgirl@dartsinmaine.com) and we can probably figure it out together...
10/4/2006 - New local shootout at Champions in Biddeford. Starting this week, it will be held Saturdays at 4pm. Entry fee is $5.
9/15/2006 - Stats are posted for week 3, as well as the final roster list. Please double-check the list and be sure your names are spelled correctly for those nice trophies you are all planning to win this fall!
9/4/2006 - Due to the holiday, paper newsletters will not be mailed this week. The online version has been posted, so if your teammates aren't online, perhaps you could print a copy to take to your match and share...
8/25/2006 - Everyone who brings their unused SRDL postage stamped envelopes from previous seasons to Sunday's Captains' Meeting will be entered into a drawing for 5 sets of flights (or $5 worth of other dart supplies) from dartsinmaine.com. "Yay, free stuff!"
8/20/2006 - Here is the info from the Fall Info Sheet that Captains and players need to address next:

8. By player demand, the Seeding Meeting is MANDATORY*. This meeting will be Wednesday August 23rd, 6pm at Referees in Old Orchard Beach. Information on the seeding process is found in Rules & Regs Article 3. Player Averages used in seeding will be published on the website for your information.

9. The bar of the season is The Brunswick in Old Orchard Beach. Board meetings meetings will be held there on the third Monday of each month, starting September 18th at 7pm. Other League meetings and events may also be held there at the Board’s discretion, and would be announced in the Newsletter at least two weeks prior.

10. The MANDATORY* Captains' Meeting will be held at The Vacancy Pub, Sunday August 27th, at 1pm.

11. The Fall 2006 season will start August 29/30th; individual divisions may start the second week, depending on the number of teams that are seeded in their division.

12.* Mandatory means points will be deducted for missing opening and/or closing roll calls. Captain may designate a teammate as team representative if unable to attend. Don't start off in the negatives!

8/20/2006 - This announcement updated to take online roster submission offline, now that the deadline has passed...

Dates and deadlines for the Fall 2006 season are now available!  You may submit your roster online, or print out a copy of the info sheet and roster if you wish to submit your roster by postal mail.  Roster deadline is Wednesday, August 16th, so let's get those rosters submitted!  If you need paper forms mailed to you, please call a board member ASAP!

8/4/2006 - Thank you to all who called to make sure we knew the website was down!!! Due to a system failure at our registrar (registerfly.com), our yearly renewal of the domain name dartsinmaine.com did not take place automatically, and it was several days before they could even provide the service manually. We should be all set for at least another year, as our excellent hosting service (bizland.com) almost never has unscheduled downtime.
7/23/2006 - Pictures from the Banquet and also the Finals are now available. See links in the archive section under Spring 2006.
7/23/2006 - The "Averages For Seeding" report is now available, in pdf format, so you can get an idea of where your team might rank in relation to the most recent division average. The rules for seeding are reprinted below, for your information. If you have any questions, please call a board member.

ARTICLE 3 - SEEDING PROCESS

Section 1.  Teams will be seeded according to the following process:

  • Use the most recent stat available to determine the person’s average.
  • If no verifiable stats on file, use previous season's division average from the division being requested. *
  • Must have 10 games in a season to be verifiable.
  • Adjust percentages by 10% for each division change.
  • Example:  a player who earned 65% as a C player would be considered to have a 75% average if applying to D, but only a 55% average if applying to B.
  • Average the top four or six players' stats, depending on whether the requested division plays a 4- or 6-person format.
  • Exception:  Use verifiable stats first, even if they are lower than players using the division average.

Section 2.  The Saco River Dart League may require any team to move up or down a division, depending on the percentage and/or the number of teams in the division for which you are applying.

*Spring 2006
Division Averages
Div  Avg
A 47.07%
B 48.91%
C 50.85%

7/18/2006 - If you printed out the info sheet before this announcement was posted, you will want to note a couple of minor changes.  The bar of the season is now The Brunswick (previously said TBA), and the MANDATORY Captains' Meeting will be at the Vacancy Pub, due to a lack of available parking on a summer Sunday afternoon in downtown OOB, specifically in the area of The Brunswick...
