IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Yes, all league announcements are important!!!
7/26/2003 - LOOK FOR INFO ON SIGNING UP FOR NEXT SEASON, TO BE POSTED BY TOMORROW!!!
7/10/2003 - Now you can add yourself to the SRDL Mailing List!  The mailing list is not a substitute for reading the announcements that appear in your newsletter.  Rather, it is used to notify and remind you of deadlines, board vacancies, league functions, and other darting news of local interest.  Sign up on the Contact page.

Every message you receive will include instructions for removing yourself from the mailing list if you no longer wish to participate.  Do this carefully, as you will never be able to subscribe using that same address again (we don't control this process, it comes that way...).

5/6/2003 - BOARD VACANCIES:

1.  President Dan McKeown announces his resignation, effective after the finals on 5/17.  We thank Dan for his year and a half of service and are sorry to see him go.  If anyone is interested in applying for this job, please write to srdl@dartsinmaine.com or call a board member to express your interest.  Candidates should show up at the beginning of the June 16th board meeting (location to be announced later this month) to interview for the position.

2. The position of League Secretary is still open, since nobody ran in the December election.  This is a voting position and would give you a voice on the board, representing your fellow shooters.  Your main duty would be taking notes at the monthly board meeting.  See the by-laws for a full description of this position.

5/5/2003 - PLAYOFFS/FINALS/BANQUET/SHOOTOUT INFO:

A list of players who are not eligible for the playoffs will be posted on the Newsletter page of the website, as soon as all match reports arrive and get entered.

The Finals will be Saturday, May 17th, 2pm at the Biddeford Eagles.  When all divisions are done, the Banquet food will be served, and the trophies and plaques for the season will be awarded.

Following this, there will be a FREE draw doubles shootout for current League Members ONLY.  You are considered a current league member if you played in either Spring 2003 or Fall 2002.  The format will be upper division players paired with lower division players, which was quite a success last year.  The League is prepared to give out $1800 in prize money, so everyone should consider participating!

4/11/2003 - As many of you know, there is going to be a shootout at Referees on Sunday April 27th to benefit Tom McKeen in his fight against cancer.  This is not a league-sponsored event, but Tom is a board member and has played in the league for many years, so the Board would like to extend its support and encouragement for this event.

{pictures posted 4/28} Follow this link for details.

4/3/2003 - Please note the high number of "not yet received" match reports is due to very few being dropped off last night as requested.  Stats will be fully updated next week!
Wednesday night Captains: If at all possible, please drop your match reports for week 10 (4/2/03) off to Laurie at Referee's so we can get the newsletter out before leaving for the White Mountain Shoot on Friday. Thanks in advance!
3/15/2003 - Just added to the Standings page - Weeks Played report.  In order to qualify to play in the playoffs/finals, a player must have played 1/3 of the season.  For divisions BB, B, and C, this is 5 weeks, and for A due to the bye, it's 4 weeks.  This report will be updated weekly throughout the rest of the season.
3/15/2003 - While the SRDL does not recognize every possible notable throw in terms of giving out plaques, we are happy to announce them on the newsletter the week they occur, if captains will take the time to note them on the back of the match report sheet.

A perfect game in 301 would be done in 6 darts (all of which must count!), or 9 darts in 501.  However, a 10-dart 301 or a 12-dart 501 does not happen every day, and both are certainly worthy of congratulations.

2/15/2003 - Attention captains and other interested league members.  The finalized rosters are now posted.  You should be able to print out a list of your division's players for your team packet, but if you have any problems, just contact srdl@dartsinmaine.com and we'll get one to you asap.  Other than hardship additions (see Rules & Regs Article 2, Section 5, Part B), this is the final list.  Announcements will be made here on the website if any players are added/dropped under that rule.
2/7/2003 - Reminder that the benefit bean supper for Mike Lamb is this weekend.  Click here for details.
2/3/2003 - REMINDERS - For the first three weeks, players whose dues are not yet paid must pay the first night they play.  All outstanding dues are payable with the match reports of week 3 or the unpaid players will be dropped!  Captains, please remember, you cannot add a player by simply putting the info on the back of your match report sheet.  Div BB, B, and C - you need to call your Area Director and get approvals; Div A - you need to notify your Area Director.
1/27/2003 - If you need more teammates or are looking to join a team, check out the online Bulletin Board...  Captains, please contact your Area Director asap to start the approval process if you have someone you need to add.  By request, a sample of how to fill out a match report sheet has been posted on the website.  Also by request, we have a blank match report for you, which you might find convenient to print out to write your lineup on when you're the visiting team.
1/21/2003 - REMINDER - seeding meeting (not mandatory) 6pm Wednesday 1/22 at Referees...

12/29/2002 - The League is now officially accepting rosters.  Please read this info sheet first, and then fill out a roster form online, or print one out to mail in later.  Forms will be distributed to your local pubs and clubs as well, but contact srdl@dartsinmaine.com or any board member if you need more or know of a potential new sponsor location!  If you need more teammates or are looking to join a team, check out the online Bulletin Board...
12/27/2002 - The league will begin accepting rosters online this Sunday.  If you find and use the form before Sunday, your data WILL get wiped out, as the form is currently undergoing testing!

12/10/2002 - As most of you know, the Finals will be 2pm Saturday Dec 14th at the Biddeford Eagles.  After the awards ceremony, approximately 5pm, there will be a draw doubles shootout.  The League is contributing $200 to the prize money, and the entry fee is $5 per person.  Like last year's very successful winter shoot, Tuesday players will be paired with Wednesday players.
12/06/2002 - Playoffs will be 12/10 and 12/11 with 4th place at 1st place and 3rd place at 2nd place.  DON'T FORGET TO CALL IN YOUR SCORES AND MAIL YOUR MATCH REPORTS!!!  Please check the Weeks Played report at the bottom of the newsletter page to make sure all your players qualify to play in the playoffs and finals.  Any player with an asterisk next to their number of weeks did not play the minimum required for post-season play.
12/02/2002 - The next board meeting is Monday December 9th at 7pm.  If you are planning to attend, please contact Dan McKeown at 730-1234.  In accordance with Article 7, Section 4 of the By Laws, all board meetings begin with a 15 minute open forum, where league members may present any concerns, ideas, or other matters.  After this time, the meeting may be closed at the discretion of the President.
12/01/2002 - Results of the election have been tallied.  See elections page for details.  Dates for next season have also been announced.  See Spring 2003 info page.

9/27/2002 - The date for this year's benefit tournament will be Sunday, November 10th.  Please mark your calendars now! Forms for your fundraising efforts are available - ask any board member if you don't see one at your sponsor.
9/20/2002 - Captains: Now that the add/drop period is over, you may request a copy of your division's official rosters.  Drop a line with your name and team to srdlstats@dartsinmaine.com or call your Statistician at 468-3180 with that info.
9/6/2002 - REMINDER!  You must include money for any *unpaid* players with your week 3 match report, or they will be dropped from your roster.
8/30/2002 - The Bulletin Board is still available for players looking for teams, as well as teams looking for players.  Click here.  To add a message, drop a line to srdl@dartsinmaine.com and we'll post it for you.
8/29/2002 - Sponsor change:  the A division team River Club Arsenal are now Champions Arsenal.  Please adjust your schedules accordingly.
8/28/2002 - one more clarification

Concerning the discrepancy between ByLaws Article 3, Sections 1 and 5:  one says players must be paid by week 3, the other says they must be paid when you submit your roster.  Here is the clarification:  whenever possible, player dues should be submitted with the roster.  If you can't get ahold of certain players until the season actually starts, you may include their money in with your match report sheet the same week that player plays.  However, week 3 is the cutoff for doing this.  Any players who are still unpaid after week 3 will be dropped from your roster and you will not be able to use them in future matches.  If you still have questions, please call your area director - we don't want you to lose points!

8/27/2002 - Notes from Sunday's Captains' Meeting...  Captains asked for Board clarification on the following:

+ Rules & Regs Article 5, Section 6. All scoring in the 01 games must show the score for each turn as well as the score remaining. The previous score and the score for the last turn must be crossed out so that only the current score is showing.

The question was, do all scores need to remain on the board at all times?  The answer was NO.  If you run out of room and need to erase the top part of the board, leave the previous score, the score for the last turn (both crossed out), and the current score.

+ What to do when your team plays short?

If the player was written down before you knew you were playing short, cross out the name (neatly, one line) and write absent next to them so we know not to enter any stats for them.  Leaving the position blank is also an option, if you know ahead of time that you are going to be short.

Other: Fall elections are coming up soon.  Click here for more info.
